“I didn't know what to say.”

I told her as she looked back,

Her eyes watered,

I was gonna plead with her,

But the way she closed the door on her way out,

Said enough.

“I didn’t know what to say,”

I told my coworker,

He was lecturing me about my bad attitude,

Towards the customers.

I was gonna ask a question,

But the way he tensed up,

Said enough.

“I didn’t know what to say,”

I snapped at my mom,

She was holding my arm,

Begging me why I didnt tell her.

I was gonna raise my voice,

But the way she held me,

Said enough.

“I didnt know what to say,”

I told my teacher,

She was holding my failed english test,

I was gonna ask to re take it,

But the way she sighed and put it away,

Said enough.

“I didn't know what to say,”

I exclaimed to my friend,

He was mad that I wasn't listening,

I was gonna apologize,

But the way he turned away,

Said enough.

“I didnt know what to say,”

I said to the moon,

As it was shining through my bedroom window,

I was gonna ask it to stay with me,

But the way it hid behind the clouds,

Said enough.

“I didnt know what to say,”

I whispered to myself,

but I couldnt stand there and cry,

So I let myself bleed,

Did it say enough?
