I was in class one day

when my mind wandered astray

I was in a land full of light

it covered everything in sight 

but something wasn’t right

that was when I noticed

there was something else there

if I focused

I could see through the glare

and what I saw

was terrifying

there was darkness thick and blinding

and it was so cold I couldn’t thaw

I’ve got to do something

I can’t let it win

but it keeps coming

I’ve got to look within

but just then

there came a person

who came in like an arrow

he looked like some sort of hero

he took the darkness by surprise

and I couldn’t believe my eyes

he wielded a sword of night

but was filled with light

just seeing him made me want to fight

but still, it wasn’t enough

the hero was defeated

his life was depleted

the darkness won against the light

plunging the world into eternal night

that’s when I woke up

feeling evil and corrupt

but then the feeling passed

like wind through the grass
